Research Tips

Follow these steps and use the research resources in this Library Guide to help you write your position paper and prepare for debate:

  1. 1. Do some background reading on the country and culture you have chosen.

  1. 2. Continue with more background reading on the issue you have chosen.

  2. 3. Narrow your focus and do some further reading to find out what policies and actions have been taken by your country on the issue,  and the plans and possibilities for more policy work in the future.

  3. 4. Read up on the policies of other countries that will be debating the issue.

NOTE: If you come across an article that is not available as full text, you can send me an email with the bibliographic information and I will put in an Interlibrary Loan request on your behalf. I will contact you when the article arrives. Very often the article you have requested will be delivered in only a day or two - sometimes on the same day!
