Guide to Government Information

You are probably hearing a lot about executive orders, bills, vetoes, confirmation hearings, fillibusters and other aspects of laws and government in the news, your classes, or around the dinner table. You may have questions about just what an executive order is, where to find out what one really says, and once you find the official text, how to interpret the legal language used to write it.

You can use this guide as a starting point for learning more about how our government makes, interprets, and enforces laws. This guide also directs you to official sources of government information.

Did you know that there are legal requirements for publishing bills, laws, executive orders, and agency regulations? There is so much information being published by the government every day, but if you don't know where to start, it can be difficult to find and make sense of it all!

The library staff is here to help you find and interpret information in all its forms. Send us an email with your questions: library@gannacademy.org or come see us in the library.
